Maningrida Progress Association Incorporated ABN 69 037 382 574 (“MPA”) a not for profit association supporting indigenous peoples enterprises in the community of Maningrida in West Arnhem Land, approximately 500 kilometers from Darwin on the coast of the Arafura Sea. The traditional name for Maningrida is Manayingkarirra, the place where the Dreaming changed shape.
The primary objectives of MPA are to improve community members living standards and quality of life as well as the enhancement of cultural life. Living standards are improved through the accessibility of healthy food options and other necessary items, which impact on the quality of life experienced by local, Bininj males and females and other indigenous peoples.
MPA is committed to the protection and enhancement of cultural life by supporting local people coordinating funerals or Sorry Business for family and clan members.
MPA takes great pride in ensuring the accessibility of job opportunities for local Bininj males and females and other indigenous peoples, who make up most of the MPA employees in a variety of roles across the association.
